Reviews for this release

This is a great tool. I've given it 5 stars, why - because it is after all an Alpha/Beta product, and as such, there is bound to be some bugs. From what I've seen though, the developer is very keen on squashing all of them - in due course. SimCityPak has been a great tool for me to help me change and mould the game into something I enjoy, rather than the monstrosity that it is today. Thank you Oppie for a great tool, and we look forward to continued development and improvement. For those of you who would like a video tutorial on how to use SimCityPak - including how to switch to your preferred language - there is a good one available at YouTube at

One of my biggest pet peeves with this build is that the local names of properties have been changed to absurd value names. For example, In oppie's modding tutorial, it is shown that the names or properties (i.e., "Preview Image" or "Menu Item Icon",) are displayed as complex-to-understand names (i.e., "toolMarqueeImage" "ecoGameToolIconKey"). For someone who is trying to learn how to mod, this is a real problem, for he/she has to do lots of guess work to find out what properties do what. TL;DR: Please change the property names to be in understandable non-engineer form. (My original review) With some occasional crashes, this tool is excellent for modding the SimCity client. I know oppie will do more to improve this tool, but the locale file fix is working. Modding in English is now possible again, so thanks to oppie!
